Project Partners

The original MULTISENSOR project was built as a collaborative effort across research institutes, language technology specialists, semantic infrastructure providers, software development teams, media organisations, and business-facing user partners.

This structure reflected the core challenge of the project itself: building intelligent systems able to combine text, speech, multimedia, semantics, context, and user needs into a coherent platform.

Information Technologies Institute – Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH)

CERTH-ITI was the project coordinator of MULTISENSOR and led Project Management activities (WP1). CERTH-ITI was also responsible for multidimensional content integration (WP4), with a focus on multimedia and semantics.

Linguatec – Language Technologies (LT)

As a specialist in machine translation and automatic speech recognition, Linguatec was responsible for Multilingual and Multimedia Content Extraction (WP2).

Fundació Eurecat (EURECAT)

EURECAT led the human-centric analysis of content (WP3), focusing on context analysis, sentiment extraction, and information propagation in social media.

Ontotext AD (ONTO)

Ontotext brought strong experience in semantic infrastructures. Within MULTISENSOR, Ontotext led WP5, focused on semantic representation and semantic reasoning techniques.

Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF)

UPF contributed expertise in summarization and text information production. In MULTISENSOR, it was responsible for content summarization and user-tailored presentation delivery (WP6).

everis Spain SLU

everis contributed extensive experience in the development of technical solutions. In MULTISENSOR, it was responsible for system development and integration (WP7).

Deutsche Welle (DW)

Deutsche Welle was one of the three user partners. It led Use Case development (WP8) and also participated in dissemination and evaluation.

pressrelations GmbH (PR)

pressrelations is a media monitoring company involved in use case design, system development, evaluation, and exploitation. It led the exploitation activities (WP9).

Micro, Petita i Mitjana Empresa de Catalunya (PIMEC)

PIMEC designed the use case on SME internationalisation and was involved in evaluation, testing, and dissemination.

Why This Partner Structure Still Matters

MULTISENSOR brought together the kinds of capabilities that are still required in modern multimodal and sensor-driven AI: research, language processing, semantic technologies, software integration, and real-world user validation.

That same combination remains relevant today across multimodal AI, sensor fusion, computer vision, and speech and language systems.
